Toxicité des chimiothérapies contre le cancer du testicule sur les cellules germinales mâles

proposé par Géraldine Delbes, Department of Phramacology and Therapeutics, 3655 Promenade Sir-William-Osler, Montréal, Québec, Canada H3G 1Y6

Projet de stage : Our project aims to test the hypothesis that the combination chemotherapy regimens used clinically for testicular cancer alter male germ cell quality, adversely affecting fertility and/or progeny outcome. Using the well established rat model, we are assessing the consequences of exposure to the therapeutic cocktails for testicular cancer on gene expression in the germ cell. Whole genome DNA arrays have been performed and a list of candidates has been recently established. The project will consist on targeting one affected gene or pathway and confirm its involvement at the protein level. The unique insight derived from these studies should permit the establishment of endpoints or biomarkers to assess the effects of cancer chemotherapeutics on human germ cell quality and, ultimately, lead to strategies to protect human germ cells from insult. Interested candidates should send a cover letter, a CV and references when possible.

Techniques mises en œuvre par le stagiaire : Quantitative RT-PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemistry.
